Mediterranean Landscaping
Mediterranean Classical Influence
Mediterranean landscaping style is inspired by the sun-drenched shores of Europe. Because Southern California shares a Mediterranean climate, the style is a perfect concept for our region and may be adapted to a formal or informal landscape. It minimizes water-thirsty lawn areas and focuses on plants that enhance the architecture and beauty of the home. The drought tolerant plant palette is ideal for budget conscious, low maintenance landscaping.

This example is relaxing and informal with meandering walkways, a colorful free-standing water fountain, flagstone pavers, and fragrant lavender borders. The stucco walls and tile roof provide a backdrop reminiscent of a traditional Mediterranean house.
The backyard focal point is a water fountain with low voltage fiber optic landscape lighting. Custom wrought iron overhead pergola, custom painted tiles, outdoor kitchen and fire pit with build-in seating bench, pool are great for entertaining and relaxing. Low water landscape plants include: citrus, rosemary, olive trees, lavender, red geraniums, cypress, bay tree, bougainvilleas, New Zealand flax, succulents and many others.
