Why I became a landscape designer?
Few years ago, I wanted to improve the look of the backyard of our home. And though, I was very much interested in doing it all on my own, I wanted a professional to do it. But, I had no idea of how to search for someone or where to look for some help. I decided to hire a local neighborhood landscape contractor who informed me that he was also a landscape designer. I simply went with him because the quote for his services were so reasonable. I could not believe my luck. I thought that I had hit a jackpot. And, in my mind I was counting ways to use the money saved from this landscape project on other things.
Little did I know that he was neither a licensed contractor nor a good landscape designer. Within a couple of weeks, I had realized that I had made a big landscape mistake. The backyard design plan and the contractor's work was not in sink. When I approached him with questions he kept on assuring me that everything would work out fine and not to worry. After a few weeks of stress, many discussions and sleepless nights we ended up cutting our losses and ended up fixing the landscaping problems ourselves.
Even to this day, my husband tells stories about that horrible experience to our guests and as a friendly reminder to me so that I never forget my silent mission - the mission to provide the best landscape design services to my clients. Growing up in South Korea, the one flower I loved most was forget-me-nots and that’s where our name comes from.

That experience pushed me to enroll myself at Cuyamaca College Ornamental Horticulture Program. There, I found my true passion. I studied to be a professional landscape artist to serve San Diego home owners. After graduating, I started providing my landscaping design services and to share my gardening and backyard design ideas and tips with home owners like you.
I try to go beyond the conventional methods and give my clients a fresh and unique plan to bring out their personality and entertaining spaces for their home and garden. I practice and implement multi-functional spaces for families and challenge myself to make the most of the given space in my designs. With two children of my own, I know first-hand how difficult it is to create functional outdoor spaces to meet all of our family needs.
As a professional home landscape designer, my concentration is in reducing waste and conserving our natural resources without compromising the quality.
I try to bring unique and fresh landscaping design elements with emphasis on peace and tranquility in your surroundings with less waste, sustainable landscape materials so that you (our client) get the benefit of a small place in your home which you can escape from the daily stresses to find happiness and create fond memories with your friends and families.
My goal is to offer sustainable landscaping and garden design to bring art, nature to each and every client, and at the same time reduce our impact on the environment. By limiting our services to San Diego and surrounding 50 mile radius, we can concentrate on being the best landscape design company rather than trying to “do it all”!
