Herb Garden

What is an herb? It's a plant that doesn't have a woody stem and it dies back to the ground each winter, leaving only its root system alive.

What is the difference between herbs and spices?

Herbs are usually fresh or dried leaves and tend to have a milder flavor.

Spices are the seeds, roots, fruits, flowers. Spices tend to be stronger and more pungent.

A good backyard landscaping idea is herb gardening and why you should consider it:

  • Good and used for meals
  • Fresh herbs have more flavor than dried store bought
  • Easy to grow in a small space gardening
  • Can be grown indoors
  • Improve your health
  • They smell good
  • Herbs add color, texture and fragrance to the garden
  • Repel pests

Tip - For those amateur cooks, use fresh, organic herbs when entertaining outdoors. The food will taste so much better and be infused with the flavor of fresh herbs.
